This place has one of the best beef noodle money can buy...the soup is so flavourful and beef so tender...yummy...they will be closing end of this month and reopen only after 2 months. I was there this morning and many of the hawkers complaining that they still have to pay rent for the 2 months when they are asked to close. Other nice food in the center includes:

a) Orh Lua
b) Popiah
c) Fishball noodle

If you just happen to be thrifty, they have a stall that will set you back only $2.40 for rice, 2 veg and 2 meat. I will normally order, fish, chicken wing, egg and vegetable with rice and all for only $2.40. That is value for money!

lianbeng says: it's Brian Wong's fault lor! :D ahpek kana interviewed on tv liao whole market must close shop!

The orh lua guy has been there 40 years, never had a good size crowds. Then one day got review and long queues soon follows. Disappeared a week later.

Popiah guy. Old man and wife still around. New owner up from $1.00 to $1.20 and settle at $1.30. See how.

Hainanese beef guy. Those who would finish gravy from chilli crabs plates would like its heavy taste.

Old time favorites among residents there includes the prawn noodle stall (on the inside area), dessert stall ($1.00 and not so sweet), chee cheong fun between the popiah and beef noodle stall (long lines every morning), Malay nasi lemak & chui kueh (next to each other), $2.20 economical curry rice with 2 veggies and 2 meat.

The centre is busy in the morning with most of the stalls closed by night.
