A woman from Hainan jumped to her death on Saturday night in front of her eight-year-old son and husband in Toa Payoh, reported Shin Min Daily News.
The incident took place at around 8:50pm on Kim Keat Avenue.
According to the newspaper, the 34-year-old Chinese national, He Yu Na, was drunk after downing six to seven cans of beer.
In her distraught state, she allegedly came to blows with her mother when she picked up a chair and threw it against the refrigerator, reported the same paper.
In her agitated state, He then ran to the corridor and jumped down in front of her husband and son, according to Shin Min.
It was reported that He’s mother had rushed to save her but the aged woman was unable to grab hold of her daughter.
He was reported dead at the scene at about 9pm, a police spokesperson told Yahoo! Singapore.
The police have classified this case as an unnatural death and investigations are ongoing.
