BUTTERWORTH - A man was killed while two others were seriously injured after they were shot at by two men who came in a motorcycle in Ujung Batu, Bagan Dalam here.
The deceased was identified as M. Ravindran, 19, who was hit three times near the left ribs.
Two other victims, aged 51 and 18, were rushed to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for treatment during the 10.30pm incident on Saturday.
The three victims were said to be waiting outside a temple for the rain to stop before the shooting took place.
The suspects rode up to them before one of them whipped out a pistol and shot them.
Penang CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mazlan Kesah said the gunman had fired at least six shots as police have recovered six bullet shells at the scene.
