I am not condoning anyone calling in the army, and I don't know where you got that idea. Maybe you are just too blinkered and too hot-headed to see the issues rationally. Nor do I want the PAP to remain in power forever, you can read my posts in the other thread and I think even a BMT recruit will understand what I'm getting at.
You think it's impossible and I am saying it's not impossible, that's all. It happened in China. LKY himself defended Deng and appeared to endorse what he did. You can draw your own conclusions from that fact.
Basically if you think that it is going to be possible for people to vote out the PAP and install a new government, think again. The PAP is not going to walk away quietly. No chance. Too much is at stake for them, not just politically, but in terms of the personal interests and obligations that some of their leaders have. I am not referring to corruption. I am not alleging that they are corrupt. However, there are others who need them to stay in power for various reasons and there are some leaders who fear losing power because of what they "owe" these people.
And if you think that at ANY POINT it is possible for Singaporeans to do a "People Power" revolution and overthrow the PAP, similar to what happened when the Filipinos overthrew Marcos, please, you need to get your head checked. You need psychological help. You want it to happen, and I know alot of people in this forum want it to happen. It doesn't make it any more likely.
If you don't believe me, why don't you go and speak to 20 coffee shop uncles or 20 taxi drivers and share your views with them. Tell them that one day, the people of Singapore will not take it anymore, and will take to the streets in protest in the thousands. See what they have to say. And this is coming from the people who are said to be the "pulse of society".
