Official fired for not returning from overseas

An official in Guangzhou has been dismissed for not returning from a visit overseas within the allotted timeframe, according to the Guangzhou-based Southern Metropolis Daily.
Wang Weihua, 45, was a deputy chief of the division for auditing foreign investment and agricultural resources in the Guangzhou auditing bureau.
On Feb 28 she received permission to visit and stay in Belgium for six months to marry. But she did not return in late August and is still in Belgium.
According to local government regulations a public servant will be fired if they are absent for more than 15 days beyond their approved request.
