Office friendships are nothing but convenient bonding. Correct?

Usually once a person quits her job, the close friendships over the years with colleagues, which involved frequent meals and drinks fades completely or grows distant. Then it comes to an end.

I guess it's because there isn't any common topic to bitch about and everyone needs to carry on with their own life.

So, I conclude that there is no such thing as genuine friendships in officr setting.

It's just a mere convenient bonding.

Correct?

There should be one or two genuine friendships that develop and continue after changing jobs.
