Occupy rally a major success in Singapore!
Over the weekend, the Ocuupy rallies in Singapore have been a major success. Who says Singaporeans are apathetic cowards hiding behind keyboard out of fear of police arrests? Hogwash!!

Occupy Orchard Road, Occupy Ion, Occupy Suntec City have been a major success judging by the crowds that turned up to protest conspicuous consumption, wasteful capitalism and income inequality. Crowds thronged Orchard Road and packed the luxury shops at the Ion in a show of solidarity with the "occupiers" elsewhere in the world. How can people be buying Cartier, LV, Tiffany when so many Singaporeans cannot afford to see a doctor when they are sick and the high price of homes means many will never be able to afford housing. Crowds occupied Suntec city over the weekend, they were seen at Courts, Best Denki, and Harvey Norman. Large crowds enthusiastically thronged these obscene symbols of excessive consumerism.

Singaporeans have awoken to the new realities facing the world. The need for a new economic model is clear. The old broken system needs to be changed to bring about a more equitable society.

Again Singaporeans lead the world in their awareness and concern
