i attended a wake recently and was pissed by such gross hypocrisy.

a close relative who was also an active church leader was barely present. many were criticising about him.

when there was a church funeral wake where someone of the faintest acquaintance died, he was usually there to lead a service. here, his closest and most probably the last elder's death, he was MIA.

isn't that obvious, a dead man cannot contribute tithe anymore right, the bad things said is because the deceased did not will property or monetary to the church.

it's nothing about money. it's more of an obligation. she was the last of the elders line of relatives. when he was young, she was very close to him too. that's the saddest and most disappointing part.

Your close relative busy leading another funeral service somewhere???

i just couldn't figure out how could he be so "on" with other people or even a mere acquaintance's death while neglecting and ignores his own closest relative.

even his wifey and children weren't present during the wake. my relative had wasted all her love and care on such a hypocrite when she was alive taking care for him.

Maybe need to ask who the deceased person and this relative voted for.
