Who is for Obama/Biden?

Gotta be better than McCain. McCain wants more war with countries which had nothing to do with 9/11- least of all Iran. On the basis that Obama could do the opposite and focus on Afghanistan and Pakistan(politically) instead, and wage a smarter campaign against terrorism- and to shore up the American economy and slow down global warming- Obama is the best choice.

At best McCain is tepid about taping down global warming and about his knowledge of the new economy and new technology. And he believes that the campaign against extremism and terrorism means that he must invade countries, WWII style.

And that's surely a disaster because it would drive up oil prices, and subsequently food prices and other stuff. The inflation rate would be enormous- simply because McCain believes in outdated theories.

Besides, he never considered her seriously. It says a lot when Gov. Kaine, and Sen. Bayh was above her in the shortlist.

He didn't even ask Clinton to submit her papers for consideration.

McCain is a joke. I can't believe the Republicans, who has be support of 1/2 the electorate, can elect him to fight for the presidency. According to the editor of Newsweek, he has 'almost a Victorian point of view'. He doesn't know how to use the internet, divorced his 1st wife becos she had an illness, and never dared take on Obama in any debate.

:biggrin::biggrin:They are the most perfect combination because together Obama Biden sound very very much like Osama Bin Laden.:biggrin::biggrin:

Its only a coincidence, but I doubt Republicans wants to challenge Biden on foreign policies. Biden is a well known for his aggressive motor mouth when he's challenged.

AFter all, he didn't care for Rudy Giuliani. He adeptly described Giuliani in a summary, "A noun, a verb and 911".

Giuliani couldn't say much after that; that comment caused a lot of damage to his campaign.

Oh yeah below is a video summary of the Democratic National Convention by CNN:

Well, its only down to McCain's tactical abilities that he was able to win his party's nomination during the primaries. But most Republicans are traditional to an extent and therefore will forgive him for not being technologically inclined, and like him for his red meat "let's invade the countries which cause 911" rhetoric. But in a general election, if he remains in that sorta position, perhaps the independent voters will go towards Obama and not McCain.

Still Obama must make this election a referendum on McCain's abilities and not on Obama himself. The Republican party must be held accountable for the numerous failures of the Bush years and so if it can be so, then the Republicans will lose because they don't offer much change in policy and do not differ much from the recent years.

Its very much even more true when it comes to the economy and the war in Afghanistan.

Even if Ronald McDonald runs for President today against the Republican, he'll win hands down

In the Congressional and Senate elections, its pretty much looking that way. But Presidential elections has a habit of going either one way or another in the US.

There's no guarantee until, unless up to 2 days before- Oct 31 maybe, when some pollsters get a sense on which direction the voters are leaning towards.

So the Democrats cannot rest.

Wonder whether Obama is more likely to free GN? Or how about McCain? Will they change SG-US relations? Criticise the human rights records? Impose sanctions?

I would say that publicly no. Behind the scenes, there could be difficulties. But no, I don't believe in exaggerations. The US would not impose sanctions on its friends, least of all an important trade port and US military base.

Its their only base in South East Asia, for obvious reasons. The closest base near Singapore is in the Philippines and in Australia, but both latter are not in the normal trade route.

The US chooses its strategic battles wisely. Even George W. Bush didn't do anything impulsively during his term when it came to Singapore. This is surprisingly- because he did act impulsively in Iraq.*

*I meant it in jest actually.
