This directly translates to higher profit margins compared to manufacturing in the USA, where labour costs, regulations and other operational expenses are much higher. Stricter environmental protection laws in the US will lead to higher compliance costs. Does the Trump administration really believe that blue collar jobs will really return to American soil?

So it's not China that is taking away blue collar jobs from America, but US corporations seeking to optimise their ops for maximum returns on investment. If manufacturing overseas offers a more favourable cost structure and higher profits, MNCs would naturally gravitate towards China and Third World countries.
