A 25 year old third year Biology student at NUS Xu Kaixiang (许凯翔) was found dead at his desk after playing computer games the entire night!

Speaking to queries from the media, the deceased’s father said his son has been playing computer games frequently at home as he is having vacation now. There are times when he played throughout the night.

“When I prepared to sleep at 1am last night, I still saw him in front of the computer, but when me and my wife woke up at 6.45am in the morning, we saw him lying motionlessly on the floor and the computer is still on,” he added.

According to medical experts, Xu may have an underlying yet to be diagnosed heart ailment which may be triggered by intense emotions.

Saw some of these gamers in a local Internet cafe near my office. Yeap, morning see them playing, evening also still see the same people playing. Internet cafe also sell instant noodles, snacks and drink. Internet cafe boss don't want to get rich also difficult.

Yah, I played a strategy game from 9 pm till 7 am in the morning ! But, that was a weekend anyway. You will be surprised that you don't feel it - the tiredness. My target was to end it 2 am but I was shocked when I saw daylight (light blue sky). And I told myself never to do that again.

250 to 300 W (excluding monitor) multiply by 10 hours means lots of money.

Not sure whether Ramseth is online or not. Ghost using internet ? Phone maybe. Many accounts that I had heard of is the loud background noises almost drowning out the 'voices'.

Unlikely, as it appears that the cause of death is probably heart attack from having intense emotions in the game.
Surfing SBF shouldn't do that to us........................ :o

Wondering whether it could also be the posture of the person from not having moved for hours.
Possibility of blood clots or lack of blood flow which causes the problem.
Should at least get up and walk about, get a drink of water, stretch a bit even if spending long hours at the computer.

Oops! experienced similar intensity when playing 'Jalan' with NBA and football. The NBA one can be really exciting (Chi Kek) and intense but have since stopped cos' know both heart and wallet cannot take it. :p

Football do u mean the action type (FIFA or whatever) or the decision type like champ manager or football manager.
When I play the latter, at most it is frustration when my transfer bids not accepted. But not that intense or exciting, hahaha..............

Hehehe Not Fifa one lah. Yeah, bets not accepted at last minute also very angry. But sometimes, turn out to be blessing in disguise.

Most exciting match are NBA matches, turn around can be so fast. Whole match keep 'eat' and 'pang' balls. Ended up, too exciting for me (or my heart) and so I gave up. Now just play odd and even. :p
