Either the Police Force or it's political officers are clueless about ground sentiments or again painted themselves in a corner about the role of foreigners in our society. The arguments put forth by the Police Senior Officers on the subject also applies to the cabinet and parliament. Since the 90s we have allowed Admin Service to recruit PRs. We recruited HK Police Officer in the late 80s and it failed.

Here is a direct quotes from a moron supposedly earmarked for CP post.

"We need, to some extent, some sensitivity to understand our foreign population,"
" The danger is if it's (purely Singaporean), you will lose touch with the people you are policing"

Will not the above apply to the cabinet and more importantly MPs, who one can argue that need to understand our foreign population.

This is what happens when the PAP cannot different a company and a country. It also explains why Govt still has no idea how to handle the influx of foreigners.

The little India incident was about poor policing, unable to react to an event, failure on the part of the leadership on the ground to lead, and pure incompetency. The riot was spontaneous, and 95% of the rioters were Tamils who speak one of the 4 official languages of the country. Do we need to recruit Indians from India to be our Police Officers to understand these workers better.

What about recruiting informants from the various segments of foreign population to provide intel.

Let's not equate poor leadership, incompetent planning, lack of foresight and a level of cowardice on the field to take a step in the wrong direction.

So this is the guy in charge of public safety. We have already had a chance to rate the guys in charge of transportation. The SERS and hospital-in-a-tent saga told us about the guys in charge of public health. God help us if we need to depend on the guys in charge of defence.
