Hi, anyone experiencing this? Bought the "Ideal" policy from them in 2003 and right now, the policy is only worth 82% of its nett premium paid, losing 18% of it's value. Just so sad to see this paper loss :(.. Though government say the economy is doing well?

Ideal Policy is an investment-linked policy. It's performance in returns is linked to the funds the policyholders chose. In any case, it's still an insurance policy that needs to reserve large sums for payouts in case of premature deaths of policyholders. One can't compare insurance investment-linked to pure investments.

Even with that said, comparing insurance to insurance, 7 years with 82% premiums paid cash value. Please go find another policy with such performance on similar premiums similar coverage and similarly incepted in 2003.

The Ideal Policy was designed by Tan Kin Lian and has been phased out for new sales since Tan Suee Chieh took over NTUC Income.
