Over the years, NTUC has emerged into a money making firm without any compassion for local Sillyporeans.
If you can recall many many years back, there's still many provision shops run by locals.
NTUC came in and took over all the prime locations with I guess they are given special treatment in rentals as well.
Initially they sell all the perishable items at a much cheaper price but as time goes on their price has increased a lot.
NTUC is no longer cheap in terms of price, it's just that they are convenient in locations.
They have also been getting their hands dirty into food courts, dental clinics, pharmacy, training and education sectors etc.
Their show no compassion in running all these business as their aim is only to churn out tons of $$$.
