According to the ST today, she said the "fiery independence" of her parents and those in the tumultous post independence years had a big impact on how she approached the show.
Without missing a heartbeat, she continued.."They were the ones who who decided, 'I'm not going anywhere, I'm digging my heels in, and I'm going to find a life for myself in this country" said the first female creative director in NPD history.
Aiyoh, so drama. Truth be told, most of us had NO WHERE to go, in those days. So, it was just to take one day at a time. And truth be told, her family was more than just middle class. Typical creative BS, using hyperboles to make a point.
But in doing so, she totally ignored accounting or taking responsiblity for the fiasco surrounding the GaGa episode. Not even a comment!
And then of course, we have the mother of all themes for anything to do with NDP - how we grew from a fishing village to a thriving metropolis.
Now THAT is truly creative, especially when told to a boy by her mother.
