Buying food from a roadside stall can be a hit or miss because you can either: find good cheap eats or food that includes unwanted surprises. Unfortunately for this woman, in her packet of nasi lemak was something she least expected – a dead lizard.
TikTok user Fatihah shared that she recently bought a packet of nasi lemak from an undisclosed roadside stall, believed to be located at Taman Tasik Permaisuri in Kuala Lumpur. When she opened the pack to dig into her meal, she found a lifeless lizard sitting on the mountain of rice and sambal.

In the video, Fatihah called out the unhygienic stall owner for not being more vigilant when packing the rice. “How can you not notice a big lizard in this nasi lemak?!!” she wrote in the video. She also shared that she lost her appetite after finding the dead reptile, and, through the captions, she also urged others to check their food before digging in.

Many netizens reacted to the video, with most comments being disgusted by the sight of the lizard in the nasi lemak after assuming it was the typical fried anchovies. However, some also tried to make light of the situation, joking that the lizard is a part of the new menu at the roadside stall and saying the reptile is another source of protein.

We hope that Fatihah brought this up with the stall owner because proper hygiene should always be a priority.

My guess is the lizard ate the fish, then died from overeating. The minah is getting two sources of protein for the price of one, she should be happy.
