Two Facebook posts by a radiographer containing nasty remarks about his patient and his workplace have been making its rounds online.
In one of the postings which were sent to citizen journalism site Stomp, the radiographer describes a patient as a "schizophrenic urine smelling auntie with urine on your both legs". The second posting was directed to "the one who didn't flush away her period blood on tissue in my clinic's only toilet".
When The Straits Times contacted the radiographer, he wanted to be known only as Mr Lee, 25 and would only say he worked in a local hospital. He has since removed the posts from his account.
He added that his postings were just "innocent rants about a bad day at work", and insisted that he was not being unprofessional. "I didn't put in my company's name, or any information that will identify the patient...It was just an innocent posting and I didn't know it would spread online," he said. "We are taught to have compassion for our patients, but at the end of the day, a job is still a job. There will be bad days, but I have always been professional when dealing with my patients," he added.
