aren't we proud? We now have official 19 leedio stations (same number of titles that Man U have won).

not counting Indon or Mudland stations.

==================

SINGAPORE : A new English radio station, which caters to women and families, will hit local airwaves in nine months' time.

SPH Unionworks will operate FM92.0, after it won an open tender by the Media Development Authority (MDA).

This brings the total number of local FM stations to 19.

To attract the widest variety of proposals, MDA did not put any restrictions on language or genre for its open tender.

MDA had put up two radio frequencies for tender. A total of 11 bids were submitted by five companies - CMS Media, MediaCorp, Singapore Austar Media Group, SPH Unionworks and StarHub.

MDA said SPH Unionworks' proposal caters to an underserved, niche segment of the population.

In a statement, MDA said existing local radio stations do provide some women and family-related content, but none are positioned as stations which cater solely to this audience segment.

MDA will tender the remaining FM89.3 frequency at a later date.

MDA said this will give industry players time to develop fresh and innovative concepts that can add further vibrancy to the local radio scene.

If any Singapore radio station can offer such goodness, I would gladly pay the radio license fee, or even for a subscription if it goes to satellite.

Unfortunately, there are too many restrictions, too much censorship.
