Apple unveiled a completely redesigned Mac Pro during the WWDC 2013 keynote. Apple Senior Vice President of Marketing Phil Schiller presented a "sneak peek" video of the product, a very unusual move for the company. The video revealed an overhauled case design, a polished reflective (not black as some photos make it seem) aluminum cylinder built around a central thermal dissipation core and vented by a single fan, which pulls air from under the case, through the core, and out the top of the case. The model is assembled in Austin, Texas, on a highly automated line.

Reviews of the new design have generally had very high ratings, but caveats are mentioned in almost every case. The performance is widely lauded, especially handing video tasks on the dual GPU units, with some reviewers noting the ability to apply dozens of filters to realtime 4k video. Disk performance, connected via PCIe, is also widely mentioned as a strong point. USA is the culprit of everything they've invented and made.

Instead of getting them manufacture in their home land to create jobs for the locals, they decided to setup factories in Japan, Taiwan, China, Korea, India etc
for the sake of churning out more profits. They even take the initial step to outsourced and OEM many of their services and products.
Now that all these countries mastered the art of "copy cat and innovate" them further in much more creative ways and bite USA back.
There's not much advantages that USA can have these days beside inventing new products and services.

That's what happens when countries implement a ridiculous minimum wage. Businesses located there become uncompetitive and move out.

The same thing would happen to Singapore if wages were not kept at reasonable levels.

I would like to thank the PAP for keeping wages low. This has resulted in full employment which is something that many other countries can only dream of.

This endless quest for "cheaper, better, faster" is what creates technological process. The fact that your phone now has 100,000 times more computing power than the Eagle Lunar Landing Module of the Apollo 11 mission is testimony to this fact.

The cut throat competition benefits all of us as consumers. It makes the world a better place.
