3.7% per year is lower than inflation rate. In other words, it is losing money in real value!
 
Its getting ridiculous, even a simple US Tresury bond index, close 2 eyes can beat this GIC. GIC is incompetant, "Its not fit for purpose."

But if you talk to sinkies on the street they would say very good to put money in CPF! Get 2.5%? on OA 4% on SA where to find in the world?

20-years compounded return in FY17 is 3.7%.
20-years compounded return in FY16 is think 4.0%.
That means GIC loses quite some money from FY16 to FY17? :eek:
