What if someone secretly smear some pork lard on the lift buttons and railings in the halal lifts?

Might be a prank, or maybe it's a service lift that's intended to be used for transporting non-halal foods. Highly doubt it's the latter though
Its not a prank but a standard practice if hotel restaurants want their premise to be halal certified.

Jakim has denied claims it ordered a four-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur to put up the ‘non-halal lift’ sign. (Facebook pic)
KUALA LUMPUR: There is no clause in the Malaysian Halal Certification Procedure Manual (Domestic) 2020 and the Malaysian Halal Management System 2020 which stipulates that hotels or premises must display the “non-halal lift” sign.
The Islamic development department (Jakim), however, said that hotels or premises can establish any appropriate mechanism in accordance with the procedures set to maintain the integrity of Malaysia’s Halal Certification.
