my poor li'l brother leetahsar is in dire straits. he's in dilemma. and so are many of the old folks living in his block and other hdb blocks in stirling which are now undergoing lifts upgrading to stop at level at every floor.
to be more ridiculously precise: upgrading of already UPGRADED LIFTS (AUL). the AUL was done during precinct upgrading years back which was really a kana sai process. nothing much upgrading in the precincts was obvious. the lifts of lts' block still stop at every half floor due to the defect design of hdb pigeonholes.
the upgraded lift talks. that is the most obvious bo liao feature. (maybe there are many blinds living there).
now it's upgrading again. upgrading UPGRADED LIFT. a extra shaft is being constructed to the affected block of flats and a new lifts installed which stops level at every floor.
the crux here is those who are affected gotta pay again. why must they pay? they have already paid during the precinct upgrading and the towncouncil was being too complacent and overlook the need for a level stopping lift.
who's fault and inefficacy were it?
LTS had argued with baey yam keng about the bearing of the full costs by towncouncil instead of the residents but baey sarcastically retorted, "if u don't pay, then the old folks would suffer lor....."
craps! to think that he dare quote "old folks" but didn't continue to be mindful whether these folks have even the money to pay or not.
the previous mp ow chin hock did a very bad job in explaining about the precinct upgrading resulting in many who didn't have extra room. the years of inconvenience and trouble the residents went through was only for the sake of a stupid seat toilet upgraded from a squat one. that costs a few thousands.
they missed doing a proper job on the lifts. and now they are doing it again the upgrading for upgraded lifts. the affected residents such as leetahsar would have to cough out another few thousands. it was suppose to be $3k per unit flat. per block of 14 storeys flats of about 140 units, the total amount the towncouncil is fleecing per block is about 420K minimum.
is this amount a "subsidised" sum as claimed by the towncouncil? to make a lift shaft and lift cost about 420K?? and "subsidised"?
there are now a few blocks affected and undergoing such upgrading. i m just wondering whether in the end, there is some extra money going into the towncouncil's coffer :(
baey yam keng is NOT really a good caring mp. but he's definitely a very good acting whore seeker!
