No proof Christians were hurt by Amos Yee’s video

On the first day of the hearing that took just 20 minutes, the defence lawyers stated that the graphics in Amos Yee’s facebook were nothing offensive or obscene and many magazines or media had similar graphics or pictures in them. The case was adjourned with the court asking the counsels to define what is offensive and not offensive.

The second point in contention was Amos offending the Christians and with intent. And that it is no good as it would, in my interpretation, harmful to our social fabric and make the Christians angry. The defence pleaded it was not Amos intention to hurt the Christians. So the issue now is a matter of Amos intent with what he said and how it offended the Christians.

The defence counsel also quoted that many Christians said they were not offended. Would this be enough? Would it be enough if hypothetically the Pope or some Christian leaders were to stand up to say they are not offended, which means there was no victim?

While the two sides were saying their peace, it would be good if the defence lawyers could make a plea to the judge to remove the chains and shackles on the poor boy. He is only a kid and he has not hurt anyone. Can the court be kind enough to take pity on the boy without influencing the court’s decision the case?

Perhaps the President or Chairman of the Kindness Movement may want to say some kind words for poor Amos.

Amos didn't insult Christians, at least not directly. He ventured his personal opinion of Christ, which he is entitled to have , misguided though he may be. As for the Amos doodle of two now dead people having a tryst, is it indecent ? If he didn't draw it but wrote a fantastical description of it, would that be indecent ? He was depicting his distaste for two people of similar outlooks who had an unabashed mutual admiration. Has anyone been permanently damaged ? I do not know the laws on this so lets hear the judge.

All I know of law is that it is supposed to ensure good order, not used as a tool to extract vengeance. The judge can only do her job. It is the police and the AG which needs to show wisdom.

It could be that they gave that Jason moron a good scolding and warning but didn't pursue charges because the case would really have inflamed feelings. I don't know. But If that happened it would
have been a wise decision. However, it would be ironical if they didn't pursue that case because it wasnt good to prolong hurts and inflame feelings but to pursue Amos' case because Christians are forgiving and not going to dwell on the matter

The whole video last about 10mins , and he only used Jesus as a comparison for less then 2 mins . Even the end of the video Amos said he wanted Singapore to change for the better .

If Jesus were not power hungry, why call himself the King of the Jews? He stirred up shit between the Jews of his time and Caesar. The Jewish leaders didn't acknowledge him and sent him for crucification. The evidence is all in the Bible from John 19:12. Till today, the majority of modern Jews still don't believe Jesus is their messiah.

These are all hard facts that one can reasonably conclude that Jesus was a power hungry man.

Why don't you talk about something you know. King of the Jews was a title given to Jesus by Pilate when he condemned him out of mockery. King of the Jews did not come from Jesus' mouth. Jesus said render unto Ceasar the things that are Ceasar's and to God the things that are God's. Pilate wanted to set him free but it was the Jews who asked for his blood.
