農業官員承認，輻射污染物隨風四散，隨機抽樣不足以確保所有農作物安全，但由於檢測儀器不足，無法檢測全部農產品。官員亦稱，儘管公眾質疑是否應容許繼續耕作核電站附近的農田，但停耕將令耕地大幅減少，影響食物供應。
