'Green man' too quick for the old and grey

SINGAPORE'S population is rapidly ageing, so we need to review the timing of the "green man" for pedestrians at traffic junctions, especially on main roads ("Auntie, be careful when you cross the street"; Jan 29).
The timing seems tuned for the young and fit, and not for the slower pace of the elderly and not-so-fit pedestrians. It is a sorry sight to see the elderly trying to make a dash across the road within the short time.
