Sometimes Singaporean too mild, takes shit from lousy management and suffer in silence. Evidently SMRT HR department has not done a good job communicating with their foreign employees. Total disregard and lack of respect when dealing with their employees.

Perhaps Singaporean should take a stronger stand like these Chinese bus drivers when dealing with incompetent management. PAP/NTUC put great efforts to preseve a good image and avoid strike at all cost. It's the employees that are suffering and so how do we generate productivity improvement when you have disgruntled employees that suffer in silence. Management always pushing employees to do more with less to show good bottom line. Replacing Singaporean with cheaper imports. Ultimately the lesser educated Singaporean will suffer. Seems PAP pushing for everyone to do white collar job but what about those that work better with their hands ? For Singapore to move forward, we must allow more labour actions to push back incompetent managment to do better or to replace some of these incompetent managers. How often workers have to listem to incompetent managers and do bullshit work, then the workers get the blame when it did not turn out right. This way we can cultivate better managers that do their homework properly before organizing their staff to work more effectively. Good labour movement and push-back actions can help Singapore develop a better and more responsible management culture. They should relax laws regarding strike and encourage more ppl to be vocal when things are not working out. Then they will be less cover-up when ppl in executive position are not performing. Stop protecting incompetent executives and leaders.

HK allow their ppl to protest peacefully and we see it quite regularly. Why can't Singapore allow it ? This is a sign of political maturity. 1st world economy but 3rd world politics ? Good responsible gov't with their citizens at heart need not worry about any Spring uprising.
