However, yeah if China industries can take this seriously to produce cutting edge GPUs for consumers the way they succeeded with smartphones and AI, then certainly consumers all over the world would benefit from cheaper alternatives to Nvidia and AMD.

Meanwhile, China hardware modders have been capable of upgrading Nvidia GPUs with added VRAM, eg. RTX 5090 with 96GB, 128GB, even all the way up to 256GB VRAM. They have sold some of these online internationally for a premium, you want to buy?

That's the route China is on, to create and deploy tech and innovation to delight consumers. It is not quite there yet with GPUs but will certainly surpass the west in good time. Errrr, don't think I want to buy those hobby modded GPUs lah, better wait for a properly built one backed by a reputable name. Besides I am not an early adopter.

That's true. I chose Nvidia over AMD and Intel because of their software. They are the standard and optimised for most apps and games. Also, Nvidia chips suck less power. AMD chips are very resource hungry.
