The National Solidarity Party (NSP) is a Political Party founded in 6 March 1987. We have maintained a sound moral standing which sustained our relevance to the citizens of Singapore for every election. As we keep abreast of public concerns and needs, we endeavour to become the guiding light and direction for Singapore’s political development.

Mission
NSP exists to uphold democracy, and to provide constructive ideas to benefit the Society. The Party positively promotes the establishment of a multi-party political system. It envisions to be a credible and caring political party.

Political Ideology
NSP is a popular-based social democratic party of centre-left alignment. It is pragmatic, progressive and treasures strong nationalist values eg. sovereignty. While the Party is pro-business, it champions the working class at the same time.

Core Values
NSP believes in the human potential, dignity and rights of all people regardless of race, language and religion. The Party is committed towards the building of a more open, dynamic, vibrant and inclusive society through consensus and the democratic process. It also values the contribution of each and every member towards the promotion of its potential cause. The Party activates its core values through its motto: Service to Society.

NSP is finished as a political force.

They have no coherent political stand. If people accuse WP of being too "mild" and too "agreeable" to the extent that there are little differences between them and the PAP, them NSP is even worse - they are too similar to WP.

SDP is the only party that has a differentiated political platform. As for SPP, they are going extinct. The party is only about Potong Pasir local issues and nothing more. If Potong Pasir no longer exists (which it won't after the next GE), then SPP will have totally lost its relevance. Besides, Mr Chiam is in poor health and he will be approaching 80 years old by 2016.

The other non-WP parties should just merge and form one strong third party.

In fact, all opposition members who are leaning towards the 'moderate' approach should just join WP, while the more radical liberals who want to focus on democracy and human rights should just join SDP. There is no need for so many parties.

At the end of the day, the only two parties should be WP and SDP since they each cater to a different segment of the political diaspora.

To draw an analogy from UK politics:

PAP = Conservative Party
WP = Labour Party
SDP = Liberal Democrats

Anything else is superfluous and not necessary. The existence of so many parties just serves to lower the standing of the opposition collectively.

As for Kenneth, he may have really impressive qualifications and so on, but he shows a total lack of understanding of Singapore politics. Even though he is JBJ's son, he lacks JBJ's common touch. People tend to feel that Kenneth is a "foreigner" who has been away from Singapore for his entire life and therefore does not understand Singaporean issues.
