With the current wave of sentiments, it is highly unlikely that Nathan would want to stand for re-election, the recent payrise of $800,000+ per annum notwithstanding. You can safely assume that this National Day Parade will be his last.

Whatever the results of GE 2011 tonight, there is no doubt that like the GRC set-up, the Elected Presidency could be the next thorn to prick whatever is left of the conscience of the current leadership. What they thought was an excellent Insurance Policy against their fall from grace may well turn up to be the real trump card of the people. Hence, for all intents and purposes, the Elected Presidency may well live up to its real ideals afterall.

Is there another ONG TENG CHEONG in the making somewhere out there?

Will that someone, having seen the wave of real patriots coming out this time, have the courage too, to stand up, stand out, to be counted and be a real People's President?

Will there be someone, who will say "ENOUGH - I will lead you out of this darkness?"

hahaha....prata man will not stand for EP again...but it is not becos he don't want, it is becos he is asked to step down.
I said before if any independent person qualify for EP and stands against papee nominated candidate.....he (independent candidate) will win hands down in a straight fight.
So the real battle is not in the contest...it getting past the commitee to be eligible to contest in the first place.

George yeo for president then woodie do not have to worry... lol
