I'm completely alien to Hua Hin and wonder where I should start. Where should I stay so that I can walk around the main shopping areas without having to take a taxi or public transport? I'm looking for a hotel below $50 per night.

Last time I was there was sometime ago. To be honest, quite boring place. But then again, I may be prejudiced. So I better to shut up and leave those samsters who are thai sexperts to comment. I am sure there are many here. You should have posted and ask in the Thai sticker thread.

Modern shopping malls where I can steal aircon and beo char bo. Convenient location where I don't have to spend too much and too often on songtaew.
