Singapore Night Scenes

¶4. (S) Deputy Secretary Steinberg met with Singapore Ambassador-at-Large Prof Tommy Koh on May 30 on the margins of the Shangri-La Dialogue, the annual international security forum held in Singapore. The Deputy Secretary used the meeting with Prof Tommy Koh to find out more about some of the night scenes in Singapore. In particular, Deputy Secretary Steinberg asked for the best places in Singapore to pick up Filipino ladies for company and entertainment. Prof Tommy Koh mentioned two places in particular: Duxton Road and Orchard Towers of Singapore. Prof Tommy Koh said that the Filipino girls in Duxton Road were "cheaper" and of "low quality". He felt that the Filipino girls in Orchard Towers would be better. He said that he usually brings western ambassadors and consulate staff to Orchard Towers for "fun-filled" evenings.
¶5. (S) Deputy Secretary Steinberg then invited Prof Tommy Koh for an evening outing to Orchard Towers. Prof Tommy Koh thanked the Deputy Secretary profusely for the opportunity to go Orchard Towers again.
¶6. (S) The meeting ended 1 hour ahead of schedule.
