my passion happens to be trains, and kawasaki-csr sifang does not disappoint. :p

the latest to hit the tracks at the thompson-east coast line in 2018 is the driverless ct251. 91 trainsets on order with 4 cars each (total of 364 cars). 5 doors on each side of each car for quick and easy mass evacuation just in case. :p

must say it's beautiful inside and out. hairline cracks, if any, will only add to the sleek design. looking forward to take a ride. will post more pics of (ghost) trains in sg as i often do.

every time i ride smrt and sbs (ne line plus lrt) it's pristine service and the ending is always uneventful.

c151b trains built specifically for smrt. quite sleek but not as sleek as the ct251. 29 trainsets of 6 cars each were ordered in 2014 with delivery from 2017 to 2019. 1st c151b trainset was delivered in 2015 for trials (pic to be posted later). a total of 57 trainsets in all was ordered by 2015 but order was cut back to 45. the additional 12 will be the newer c151c.

c151a is the workhorse today. 22 trainsets of 6 cars each were delivered in 2009 and 13 more were shipped in 2014, making the fleet a total of 35 trainsets.

alstom metropolis and shanghai electric c830 on the circle line. 40 trainsets with 3 cars started service in 2009. can't escape any supplier with a tiong partnership these days. there is a new fleet of 24 trainsets of c830c already in service.

the northeast line is a little complex with the manufacture. alstom metropolis and shanghai electric partnered with kawasaki heavy industries and nippon sharyo for the first batch with the c751a. a total of 25 trainsets with 6 cars each are in service since 2003. the 2nd batch with the model number c751c is from alstom metropolis and shanghai electric without the jap partnership. 18 trainsets with 6 cars each are in service since 2015. 1st batch was built in france while 2nd batch was built in shanghai. confused?
