Yesterday, I went to a petrol station to buy new parking coupons. The cashier told me that they have run out of coupons as they cant get enough of what they ordered.

This is very inconvenient and troublesome for law abiding motorists. I have some unused coupons which I cant use and I cant get new coupons.

Why cant pap, hdb, ura allow pro-rated use of old unused coupons? For example a $1 coupon can be used for 50mins instead of 60mins. This will help to minimise work for the petrol stations and lessen inconvenience for motorists.

Take a lesson from the Currency Board. When new coins were introduced, old coins can still be used. No need to immediately render all old coins not legal tender. Old and new coins can still be used. Likewise, pap, ura and hdb dont have to render old coupons obsolete....pro-rate them instead

There are many more innovative ways pap, ura and hdb can come out with rather than to stick to dead ways of doing things that inconvenience everyone.

Dont be dead and dumb, pap, hdb and ura.

I thought PS 21 is for the govt and civil service to make things better and life less stressful for citizens. Instead looks like PS 21 makes life better and easier for the pap and civil servants and life more stressful for citizens as the govt rules by law and start fining motorists who can't get new coupons

According to:
hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/press-releases/parking-coupons-11102016
"From 12 October 2016, motorists will be able to purchase the new parking coupons at all HDB Branches/Service Centres, The URA Centre and authorised coupon agents such as all petrol stations, Cheers and 7-Eleven outlets."

So why did you wait until yesterday? ;)
Besides, there should be many other "authorised coupon agents" near your home, right? ;)

PAP rules by law... get new coupons by hook or by crook or get fined for parking without new coupons. But there are not enough new coupons!

This is the new norm!

agree! pap continues to provide lousy public transport, road congestion and jams and mrt breakdowns and continue to charge 75c tax per litre of petrol

have u tried to buy new parking coupons to replenish usage? it is like a wild goose chase.

Thereotically, on paper, there are many outlets for you to buy coupons. It looks good on paper. Yesterday I went to a petrol station at Upper East Coast Road and they said they cant get enough coupons and have run out.

Do you see the problem the pap creates because they dont know the reality on the ground. Why cant the pap, ura, hdb think out of the box and allow pro-rated use of old coupons? It is easy and not wasteful

Please answer my question, "So why did you wait until yesterday?"
You had at least one and a half months to buy the new parking coupons (or exchange your old parking coupons for new ones), before the new charges and new parking coupons came into effect from 1 December 2016, right? ;)

The government never cared about your convenience. Only theirs. Why should they when we don't complain. Singaporeans will never benefit from low natural inflation. the government will always engineer their own pay raises and pass the cost to you, lest you get too comfortable. Go on, please give them your vote.

I agree with you. But it is small things that show the lack of goods ense in the pap.

The Heart of PS21

At the heart of the PS21 movement lies the ambition to improve organisations, and public officers’ capacity to deliver citizen-centric policies and services. The Public Service best serves Singapore through its abilities to be ready for the future, and through working with the people and upholding trust.

PS 21 is pap's promise to serve Singapore and Singaporeans.

What happened to that pap's promise?

Why didn't you do so during the one and a half months before 1 December 2016? Why did you procrastinate? ;)
You could have also done so at participating petrol stations from 1 December 2016, instead of waiting until yesterday:
hdb.gov.sg/cs/infoweb/press-releases/parking-coupons-11102016

"Exchange of unused old parking coupons

3 Motorists can also exchange their old parking coupons for new ones by topping up the difference in value at 155 locations islandwide. These include 131 petrol stations, in addition to the 23 HDB Branches/Service Centres and The URA Centre.

4 Coupon exchange at the participating petrol stations will be available from 1 December 2016 to 31 January 2017 (refer to Annex B for participating petrol stations).

5 For motorists who wish to exchange their coupons earlier, they can do so at any of the HDB Branches/Service Centres and The URA Centre from 12 October 2016. There is no deadline for the exchange at these locations."

Obviously you are not a motorist.

Also you lack the brain power to understand what I said in Post#1

why subject motorists to queue to exchange coupons when they can be pro-ratedly used?

How to exchange unused coupons before 30 Nov when I still need to use them?
No, you could have exchanged some of the old coupons, or simply buy some new coupons before 1 December, right? ;)
And you could have continued doing so from 1 December, so why did you procrastinate until yesterday? ;)
