Remember Mr Ray Ferguson, one of the supposedly “prized catch” of the PAP under its Foreign “Talent” Policy?
In 2010, when Ray Ferguson, erstwhile CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Singapore took up Singapore citizenship, the State-owned media made a big case out of it gushing:
“His love of the Republic seems to be born out of huge admiration for what Singapore has achieved in recent times, both as an economic powerhouse and as the near-perfect family environment.”
That was in 2010.
Today, Ray Ferguson just announced that he is going to Bahrain to work, as the CEO of the Arab Banking Corporation where a better pay package no doubt awaits him.

He will go back to his home country. For all you know, he was not required to give up his original citizenship. Even if he did, reacquiring it is simply. Even the Ah Tiongs who took up sinkee citizenship were able to get back PRC citizenship after raping sinkapore.

No, the PRCs would simply use the citizenship to enter USA, UK, Canada, EU, etc as though they are natives of SG. Why would they want to return to China? SG is the spring board to better life, better opportunities, freedom, etc in those countries. SG is just a shit hole to them. Looks like they make fools of the SG Govt.

If a new singapore citizen applies for USA, UK, Aust residence, wont the immigration dept give them lower points and treat them as citizens of their former country? USA etc have very stringent criteria...will still see where they come from,,not just on the bais of their current citizenship
