Other countries have larger land areas, miles and miles of roads, telecommunication cables, dams, power stations, schools, hospitals, police stations etc etc spread throughout to manage & maintain, not to mention the occasional natural disaster like earth-quakes, typhoons, avalanche, tsunami etc to mess up the infrastructure.

I think there are "powers to be" within his own team that's slowly stripping him of his defenses (ie old guards retired, potentially loyal and powerful people removed etc) and at the same time increasing their own voter base (based on immigration policies) and then when the big day comes, step in and take over.

For Singapore to prosper you need good people.

You won't find these people if surrounding yourself with family & sycophants.
