Need to go into JB - where in S'pore to take M'sia taxi? Please help.

besides queen street 170 bus terminal, i think it 'll be cheaper to cross over to JB by foot, then take a cab from there, it'll be cheaper. there will be touts at the customs, just walk into the shopping mall and exit, you will see more taxis there in queue.

When walking from the CIQ to City Square Mall, the 1st taxi stand you'll see charges extra $ because they have to pay the management a cut to use that stand. This is where you have to take the escalator or lift down.

If you don't want to pay extra just walk a little more & you you can take a cab on the road between the rail way & City Square Mall. I was there last week & some cabs still refuse to use the meter  I guess they felt the trip to Pelangi was too short & decided to overcharge me by RM$1. No big deal as it is only 50 cents :)

i don't want to talk to you, you katek...and imagine if you are to drive a car, the steering wheel will be higher than you in the driver's seat...:D:D

Relax. I've been banned from driving since the last accident, and too lazy and pointless to go for recourse and retest. Anyway, I'm thinking of going to the FESC Scotch joint this evening. If you change your mind and want to talk to me, do drop by. ;)

Krafty Hotbot is a nice guy. I won't beat him up, don't worry. He won't jump into any river, reservoir or sea. He's scared of cold water.

with new CIQ i think cannot walk across the causeway already.....

I still remember in the old days when sometimes the traffic jam was so bad that I chose to walk across the causeway rather than wait hours for a cab:)

I was just kidding. As he said, I'm supposed to be so small and short that I couldn't hurt a fly. How to beat up someone as tall and fat as him? Anyway, if I beat him up, who's going to pay the bill and drive me home? ;)

btw, it's not safe in JB, i have heard stories from the JB taxi drivers that some were mugged and murdered in the night, mostly done by drug addicts. they have on average few cases like this in each year.

When's the last time you'd been to JB? The causeway has been closed to pedestrians for more than a year since the new customs complex was up and running. I (and many others both Singaporeans and Malaysians) used to walk across it customs to customs that was about 1 k.m., talking it as a casual stroll. (Took Leng How used this walkway to skip back to Malaysia after murdering Huang Na.) The pedestrian walkway is closed now, how to walk across?

The only way to cross the straits without a vehicle is to swim across (Mas Selamat chose this way, successfully too). The new customs complex is another 2 k.m. inland, not at the coast like the old one. That's why they blocked the pedestrian path that could reach JB without stopping at customs first. There's only main road after causeway crossing leads to the customs complex, nowhere else. Even if you can walk 3 k.m., all side paths are blocked with 6-m. fences.

We forget WKS and MSK
Be like Mas Selamat Kastari.
Inspite of being lame (after landing on tissue paper in WRDC)E he still managed to use plastic bags and swam to Lido Beach from Kranji.
If MSK can Do it, Joety can too.

Dear all bros here who gave me suggestions thank you all. Reason I disappeared who day is because I went in JB to buy my stuff. I'm afraid I did not followed any of your advise because a nephew offered to drive me in this morning while having bf with his mom (my sis) so it was a quickie and I was really glad I had a "driver". I had recorded all your recommendations and keep them for future trip. Thanks again.
