Is NEA trying to deflect our attention on Dengue by picking a fight with Aljunid Town Council?

Tampines St 12 (Blk 158, 161, 162, 163, 164, 166) / Tampines St 21 (Blk 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250, 251, 253, 254, 266, 267, 268, 269, 270, 271) / Tampines St 22 (Blk 272, 273, 274, 275, 277)

Total : 141 cases

The total number of dengue cases in Singapore reached the 7,000 mark as of 3pm on Friday. This is higher than the total number of cases reported for the whole of 2012 and in 2011. There were 4,632 cases reported in 2012 and 5,330 reported in 2011.

SINGAPORE: The National Environment Agency (NEA) has said that it has received feedback that the Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council (AHPETC) does not intend to clean areas above 2.5 metres, at another hawker centre.

Responding to media queries, the NEA said concerns were also raised by hawkers at Block 630 Bedok Reservoir.

The comments come amid an ongoing dispute between the NEA and the AHPETC over who is responsible for paying for scaffoldings that need to be erected for the spring cleaning of ceilings, beams and exhaust ducts at food centres.

The AHPETC said hawkers need to bear the cost.

Some of the affected hawkers have said that from past practice, it was the town council that paid for the scaffolds.

The NEA had noted that the hawkers' refusal to pay was in line with normal practice.

Sorry MPS is not weekly...it's monthly.
Weekly seesions for one GRC is spread among the GRC's MPs....so shorty mah only needs to wayang once a month for a few hours in the evening to get his mp allowance.

They failed with the mossies, they failed with the dogs at Bukit Brown and Punggol waterfront. Looks like the only prey they are good at are the town council people at AJHGPE TC.

What dogs at Bukit Brown? I cycle through there almost daily and can't recall seeing any dogs there.

Stop chasing yr own tail and you will see the light.

Whatever man. I'm just saying i cycle there alot and never have seen a single dog. To come out now and accuse NEA of failing with to control the stray dog population is ridiculous. Why so desperate??
