The NEA, or National Enviornment Agency .
What work is it doing ? What are its priorities ?
It seems its staffs' sole work purpose is to trap, entice sporns to make some littering or smoking violations in order to whack a fine on them.
Some of the food centers are in horrible state of sanitation. Coffee shops with smelly food waste overflowing in bins while people are eating at tables placed just a feet away from the rotting pile with big flies hovering about.
In a coffee shop in Kranji and other places, rats are openly running down thee sewers while people eat at nearby tables. Then there are cockroaches all over the coffee shops, under the tables, crawling on the chairs etc.
Nothing is being done to monitor this. The NEA says it is short of manpower and is trying its best to optimize the available staff.
Lets see. In some places, we can see plain clothes officials sitting in coffee shops sipping coffee or tea. All the while they are looking out for some poor sporn who happen to light up a cigarette , to pounce on him with a 200 dollar fine. Or to sneak behind a sporn waiting for him to drop any littler and then pounce on him.
Or they are hanging about some busy car parks talking on their hand phones while positioning themselves to a target victim.
Now, for all this bloody nonsense, they have all the manpower wasting away hours and hours to entrap sporns and collect fines.
But, where it matters most, the health and food safety of citizens, where they ought to check the conditions in coffee shops, food courts etc, they simply do not have man power.
Come on NEA. Cut out this crap bull shit and get the priorities right.
