Let me put it this way. The old guard started when times were hard and they had to fight to stay alive.

When they had achieve stability, that is when things started to go down hill. They subsequently even ' spoil their kakis' and it's just like a set of parents who had worked hard to acheive a good family stability and the kids turn out otherwise.
