National Service cut to 4 months

The Taiwanese only need 4 months to train to be a soldier instead of 2 years. And they are moving to voluntary service. Taiwan government have faith in Taiwanese male loyalty.

Not true. Chiang Kai Shek had always dreamed of reunification (under KMT's terms of course), and he died with his dream unfulfilled.

To this day many 外省人 still – deep in their hearts – hope that Taiwan will achieve peaceful reunification with the mainland within their lifetime.

LKY toyed with the idea some years ago about possible reunification with Malaysia. Imagine if Singapore gain control of the resources of Malaysia. Access to so many more people for NS.
