Before fools start to interprete socialism as communism, remember that the happiest people are found in the social democracies like Denmark, Sweden, Norway etc.

With government help, people can enjoy a true middle class lifestyle with the major expense in life, namely healthcare, education, unemployment insurance and pension - covered through taxes. You can then be free of financial worries and start to live. If you seek to be rich, there is nothing to stop you from pursuing that.

I think the old PAP used to be more socialist,communist in nature,at least the old guard,after all they came from the off shoots of barisan socialists and other communist parties.people then were more socialist and pro communist.but still people believed the PAP,because back then PAP was for sinkies and singapore was for singaporeans.affordable housing for everyone,healthcare and education.the national pledge back then probably meant something.even tharman was socialist when he was young.today PAP is nothing but scum,the new gen that knows nothing about the people.even though lhl is 40 years older than me.
