it was not the second choice to be bombed.

Kokuro was selected and because of cloud covers they chose Nagasaki instead.

So man original plans was not executed.

So if someone tells you are the master of your destiny.

It is not true. Only up to a certain point before a more powerful force decides.

if read about sook ching and atrocities in china coz of jap occupation, we would have wanted kyoto, sapparo and anywhere else in japan to be abombed. i think they were not bombed enough.

If Kyoto bomb. Then Japan today will not be the same.

hiroshima also nearly escape the bomb. the b29 cannot find hiroshima due to cloud cover and nearly turn to alternate target when the cloud cover open up and the rest was history.

According to historian Timothy Hall, many of the soldiers responsible for atrocities in Singapore and Malaya were peasants from the west of Japan. The 5th division which backed the Kempei Tai in the Shook Ching killings was raised in Hiroshima and the 18th Division which carried out many of the executions came from Nagasaki.
(Timothy Hall, The Fall of Singapore 1942, Methuen Press, page 21)

Both the cities were atom-bombed. A strange coincidence, or Karma?

Jap forces in Singapore..... can you identify the location?

Why 2 bombs on Japan and not 1 for Japan and the other for Germany?

The Allied air force did fire bombed Dresden to ashes and many of the residents were burnt alive - estimated at 100 000.
Dresden was the most beautiful city in Germany prior to the war.

the atomic bombs gave the Japanese leaders an easy excuse to surrender and helped them save face to her people. various Japanese highest officials admitted years later that the atomic bombs did not produce Japan's decision to surrender for that decision had long been taking shape. the atomic bomb and Soviet Russia entry into the war did help them to end the war without causing too great chaos in Japan.

Good piece of information this. Never thought the Japanese would admit such things.
