Happened on Thursday night suddenly the phone decided to have a life of its own, the screen did not respond to my touches instead it like type on its own erratically even called a few people and send some messages to others over the evening. Friday afternoon brought to AIS to check and they replaced it with a new replacement set.

Called it lucky because the set was well in advance nearing its 1 year warranty and I got a new replacement set :D :D

All along no similar plans like in Singapore.

They however have a very watered down version which has 1 year contract for monthly subscription but it's really watered down example say of phone costs 25,000 you pay 23,000 something like that

did they give you new 1 year warranty

It is not Apple policy. I was told before replacement phones comes with 3 months warranty no idea if any changes.

I see many Thais using iPhones. That means they are paying more $$$ upfront:eek:
It's amazing when you consider the low wages over there.

Belies the fact that many average thais get this status piece with some financing scheme over 12-24 months. What counts today, and hang tomorrow is mindset for many. :D

What's the retail price of a 64GB iphone 6/iphone 6 plus in BKK?
In Sillypore it's about $1000/$1100 without contract.
Definitely not cheap for a phone as you can get a low end laptop with that sort of price.

most likely it was hijacked by a phishing scam or virus. be careful of your sensitive personal info. check double check for identity theft.

What's worst is that the value drops when a newer iPhone is introduced.

Have a friend in Spore who updates his iPhone on a regular basis. However he buys the "newer" iPhone 2nd hand. Even his Beamer is 2nd hand:)

Be like the Pinoys and Banglas: buy one devices that are one generation behind, maybe second hand or refurbished ones.

No pressure to keep up with the Joneses or worry about resale value. Better yet, if you can afford it there's no need to tie yourself down with a telco contract.

If u don't like Apple's UI firmware, u can have Android on iphones :D

Maybe i should start a thread on clones of various smartphone brands.... :D

sounds like it was hit by virus.

Retail price of iphone 6 from telco is more expensive in BKK.
Saw many "puying" using iphone 6, they must be doing quite well (even with installment plan) to afford one.

I already have a few Nokia phones. Even an iPhone. However I don't like to carry such an expensive & heavy phone when I travel. My favourite carry around phone is a Nokia candy phone.

I'm thinking of getting a cheaper smartphone like the Zenphone 2 for my travels. Only about $300+ without a contract. If I lose it, it will not be as painful as losing a $1,000+ iPhone.
