Election over liao....one by one our millions $ ministers are coming out to KONG LANJIAO WEI.....dis fucking msian cow lecture sinkies about being spendthrift like the US and Europe.....but isn't he is the one who approve the purchase of $500+ designers chairs for MOH and MOM????? Now dat the bottoms of these civil servants are getting designers support, are we getting better service from MOH and MOM?????

Avoid spendthrift habits of others: Khaw

Political leaders must have foresight and tell people what is unpleasant even if they do get punished by voters, said Minister for National Development, Khaw Boon Wan.
He was speaking at the sidelines of a National Day Observance Ceremony in Woodlands, today.
He made this comment as he took stock of the financial turmoil plaguing the United States and Europe.
The Americans and the Europeans are in a fix because they did not save and overspent, he said.
The Japanese, however, were much better in managing debt, but their problem was a lack of leadership, and a populist one as well, said Mr Khaw.
For the past 20 years, Japanese leaders said things which people liked to hear, said Mr Khaw.
But what people like to hear, may sometimes not be the right thing, he added.
Mr Khaw also called on Singaporeans to be prudent in the face of global economic uncertainty and not adopt the spendthrift habits of the American and Europeans.
