No iPhone after reservation and 5 hours in the queue

I REFER to the hottest recent event - MobileOne's (M1) iPhone launch. I am an existing M1 customer since 1999 and have waited patiently for M1 to win the rights to carry the iPhone. I was excited when the wait was finally over, and I happily reserved the 32GB phone via M1's website.
I received an e-mail message to collect my phone at my preferred outlet from Wednesday, which I did at about 7pm. There was a long queue but I reckoned since I had reserved the phone and many staff assured us that once reserved we would get the phone, I decided to wait.
After waiting for five long hours, an employee came out and said the 32GB was sold out. How can that be when we reserved it? M1 should have kept stock for us.
I went to the staff to get a better idea what had happened and was horrified to learn that M1 had served not only reservations but also walk-in customers. What is the point of a reservation list if it is not followed and priority is not given to pre-order customers?
