MRT mixup: Staff direct commuters to train headed in opposite direction after train fault

mrt_mixup-thumbnail.jpg

STOMPers were annoyed when SMRT staff gave the wrong instructions during a train fault this morning (May 10). They ended up boarding a train heading back the way they came.

STOMPer Hirakawa said:

"There was a train fault at Jurong East MRT station.

"SMRT staff gave wrong instructions causing everyone to board the wrong train and travel back to Bukit Batok.

STOMPer Evelyn added:

"Train is faulty again!

"A train at the east west line was stuck in between Lakeside and Boon Lay stations."

Jurong East is undoubtedly the most glaring example of how overcrowding (3 to 4 to 5 million population) had, within a few years, fucked up a town.

Once upon a time, Jurong East was an okay place to hang out. Green spaces between MRT station and IMM.
MRT station was straightforward: three platforms. Two East-West lines, one going north towards CCK and Woodlands.
It also has a library, an entertainment centre, a science centre, some great food. Much more pleasant compared to its industrial shithole twin Jurong West.

Now, it is just a clusterfuck of people and buildings.
