PAP is full of hype and sound but is hollow

last i figured, things can't be better, cheaper & faster all at the same time. do similar carriage systems break down so often in other parts of the world? i don't travel that extensively to make a decent comparison :p:p:p

it's not just the MRT...are other organisations in SG in trouble too?

Down is not news. Up should be the news. Maybe they take parts here to repair there. That's why one side up the other side down.

Are politicians paid that obscenely anywhere in the world, answer that & you have answered your question.

MRT or Mass Rapid Transportation system is used by the masses.
Hence, it SHOULDbe classified as an ESSENTIAL SERVICEand given due care and consideration always.
It may be old but that does not mean that there will not be DAILY INSPECTIONS afrer midnight till early morning.
The multi-million dollar salaried Management SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
In common law of Torts, they owe a DUTY of CARE for the users of the system.
The "chaos" (a correct and frightful word used by the Staraits Times) caused many a people to become frightened.
Walking in a dark tunnel, knowing not where to go, not having enough people to guide were the elements that brough fear and despair to the poor commuters.
What about the handicapped in wheel chair, the visually-handicapped and others needing help?
How many of this people were on board. Investigators must look for answers and probbe deep. No one should be left untouched, even the so-called "Untouchables"
Why wasn't the Civil Defence, Police and other essential services alerted immediately?
The Civil Defence has used the tunnels for practises in the past and all these were shown and written on TV and print, respectively. What happened on this frightful day? Did they put their Theory into Real Pratice
What about reimbursement for those travelling and other expenses for their mental torments, etc..
An independent Inquest should be set up to probe this scandalous and shameful episode. Scandalous as the system was built with billions of dollars and shameful, as in the eyes of our neighbours we appeared to be helpless.
The Inquest should look into all this and footages from the CCTVs and submit their Report with fear and favour to an independent authority. If Minister, CEO and other top-ranking have to go, they HAVE TO GO. Thats it. It will truly put the Government in positive light once again. The top, being higly paid must accept responsibility like true gentlemen and NOT push the blame to the lowly paid juniors. When a war is won, the General gets the accolades. Similarly in a dsiaster the same General will put his face down in utter shame. Thats how heirachies should functyion. Take a cue from Fukushima. The Japanese are good. We should learn from them.

that list is not exhaustive..do you agree with that list? you have anything to add on that list?

i just finished my maggi mee, i shall read it and digest it in a while :p:p:p

SINGAPORE: Train services on the entire North-south Line resumed at 1.48 pm on Saturday, about seven hours after they were disrupted due to a possible fault with the power rail system.

Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (SMRT) is gradually improving frequency.

Service between Ang Mo Kio and Marina Bay stations were disrupted from about 7.00 am, in the third service breakdown this week for SMRT.

During the disruption, bus bridging services were provided at the affected stations.

SMRT believes the cause of Saturday's breakdown is similar to the problem that disrupted service on the North-South Line on Thursday night.

In the service breakdown on Thursday, a misalignment between the special components - the train track and 'collector shoes' - that trains draw power from, had caused the fault.

SMRT's senior vice-president of Communications and Services, Mr Goh Chee Kong said this in an interview with Channel NewsAsia at about 1.00 pm.

He stressed that the system is still safe.

Saturday's breakdown came a day after SMRT CEO Saw Phaik Hwa apologised for Thursday's glitch which affected 127,000 passengers, including 1,000 trapped in each of the four stalled trains.

It was the worst breakdown in 24 years.

The fucking PAP regime is doomed. Those 60.1% had better wake up by 2016. Otherwise, no saviors can come to their rescue.:oIo:

1. MRT Congestion
2. Housing problem
3. Hospital beds shortage
4. Unemployment of locals
5. Increased suicide rate
6. Unhappiness of citizens
7. Road congestion
8. High ERP rates without easing traffic congestion
9. Bus crowdedness
10. National Service for locals, jobs for foreigners
11. PAP running out of idea how to promote economic growth but having to resort to vices such as gambling.
12. Increased social problems and integration due to high influx of cheap, unskilled and unqualified migrant laboour with their 3rd world social behaviour and lawlessness
