Mr PM, for goodness sake, political positions are NOT career-building!

Hsien Loong is still thinking about promotion and career development of his employees. This kind of anomaly only exists in one country and no where else. No where in a democratically elected govt does a head of a political party has the privilege of career planning and development, and a salary scale for politicians as if they were employees of the state. In a normal healthy democracy every term of appointment could be the last term before the next general election.

Would Obama or Cameron be talking about career planning for their ministers with salary increment and promotion to come with it? What is happening here is a unique situation that could no longer exist in the next general election.

The irony is that there could be one or two of his employees thinking about LHL's career planning and development too, hahaha...............

This one, I gotta agree with you. Especially the 60% who perpectuate this SHIT!.

Do the Ministers etc:

1. Pay Income Tax or they have tax free status
2. Medical Beneifits - Subsidize or free & family do they get benefits also?
3. Transportation - Free car or subsidized
4. Bonus - how many months
5. Any other benefits

It all started with the old man, he started the expectations of Entitlement. LHL has enjoyed the benefits of this entitlement, now he'll face the costs ;)

You got the right point, as if only at GE time is for them to polish with the voters only. Then the rest of the years PM is planning for their career development.

Wonder they are also planning a career development for Geroge Yeo after kicked out by voters.

Too long in power they think gahmnet jobs are like private sectors, sad!

At the rate things are going, they NEED to plan - how to spend their millions when they leave office.

In my humble opinion after viewing Channelnewsasia yesterday[politicial pay], lky's son spoke alot and a long time during debate[???] i muted my tv set so i couldn't hear what he said but, from his face expressions and body movements, he sure reminded me of late Michael Jackson.

He tried very hard to prolong the 'debate' and keep it ALIVE.
