Commenting on the 412 criminal cases which have to be reviewed because of the test lab errors and the re-test of 2,000 samples, Dr Lam Pin Min, chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Health, said "it was also consoling to know that the officer involved in this case has the moral courage to own up to the mistake so that the problem can be identified, rectified and further errors avoided."

His comments are a frightening reminder that when serious events like these happen, the guy who makes life-threatening mistakes on innocent lives is praised for his moral courage instead of being fired and slapped with disciplinary measures? Just what is going on in Singapore?
