MP surprises residents with calamari rings for inaugural block party
STOMPer Ben said that residents who attended the inaugural Sengkang West Zone D RC block party were surprised when the MP, Dr Lam Pin Min provided a plate of fried calamari rings.
In an email to STOMP today (Mar 30), the STOMPer wrote:
“We were delighted to have Dr. Lam Pin Min join us for lunch on Mar 28, which was hosted by Sengkang West Zone D RC and involved residents were staying on levels 9 to 13 of Block 311C, Anchorvale Lane.
"Being the inaugural block party to be held in this zone, Dr. Lam surprised everyone by providing a plate of fried calamari rings for the lunch.
“There were many residents who turned up and took the opportunity to interact with Dr. Lam. Dr. Lam answered various queries and asked residents if they had visited the latest attractions in the neighbourhood, namely, the Anchorvale Community Centre as well as the Sengkang Sports & Recreation Centre.
“Residents were very happy with these new facilities, with some also highlighting that they were excited about the upcoming wet market in Sengkang Central.
“During the lunch, some residents even invited Dr. Lam to their homes while others found this an opportune time to have photographs taken with their MP.
“Besides meeting up with our MP, this occasion allowed many of us to interact with our fellow neighbours whom we seldom meet given our busy schedules.
“At 12.45pm, the party came to an end. Overall, we were very happy to have met up with our MP in an informal setting and to catch up with our neighbours.”
